About Ellen Mara Yoga
Ellen Mara De Wachter's teaching draws on more than twenty years of yoga practice, and her interest in yoga philosophy, anatomy and the restorative effects of yoga. Her classes emphasize the simple pleasure of breath-led mindful movement. She welcomes people of all abilities with a practice that offers people a space to tune in to what is going on in their bodies, minds and emotions, finding stillness and energy on the mat so they can reconnect with the world around them. In summer 2020 she completed an RYS-accredited 200 Hours Yoga Teacher Training under the guidance of Naomi Annand, founder of Yoga On The Lane in East London, and Adam Hocke. Her teaching acknowledges the vast breadth and depth of yoga, a system that incorporates physical, mental, spiritual and ethical practices, which originated five millennia ago in the region of present-day India, has developed thanks to a long lineage of teachers, and continues to be explored through contemporary scientific research into the effects of embodied mindfulness practices.
Outdoor yoga in London Fields
Join me for a dynamic vinyasa flow class in the fresh air! We will practice for an hour, moving through breathing exercises, dynamic vinyasas and short meditations. Classes will go on outdoors as long as the weather stays dry. If the weather is really bad, I will let you know a minimum 30 minutes ahead of time, and the class will move online via zoom.
Free yoga for creative practitioners
In Autumn 2020 I will offer free yoga courses for people working in creative fields, who have seen their income and work adversely affected by the pandemic. The course is designed to help nurture creativity and make your practice more embodied. These free yoga classes are made possible by a-n Bursaries: Time Space Money.
A one-to-one class can be a good idea if you are interested in having a sequence designed for your needs or would like to work on a specific aspect of your practice. Or it can just be a lovely gift to yourself or another.
